We at DBS Law are proud supporters of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity who are responsible for funding and operating three Air Ambulances serving the Midlands and Welsh border region. Flying its first mercy mission in 1991, the organisation is regarded as one of the longest established and busiest Air Ambulance operators in the UK.
What is not widely known is Midlands Air Ambulance is funded solely by the public and local businesses. The Charity receives no government money or National Lottery funding. The generosity of the public and local businesses helps to raise the £6 million required each year to ensure three helicopters remain operational and help save lives across the region.
Three aircrafts carry a crew of three, Pilot, two Paramedics or a Flight Doctor and Paramedic all of which are funded solely by the Charity and the helicopters also carry full life-support medical equipment.
It is generally accepted that the first hour after an accident is a crucial time for any patient.
If a patient reaches hospital during those first 60 minutes the chances of survival are greatly increased. That’s why the rapid response of an Air Ambulance is so vital in an emergency situation. The maximum flying time to the nearest hospital from anywhere in the region is less than 15 minutes, Midlands Air Ambulance has now flown more than 30,000 missions.
The Charity has an unrivalled reputation as a ‘life saver’ and is the only provider of the three air ambulance helicopters serving the 6 counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire. Visit www.midlandsairambulance.com for more information about the charity.
DBS Law are proud to support the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, so they can continue to save lives by saving time.

Midlands Air Ambulance has a strong association with the motorbike community and has received a great deal of support from them over the years. A charity ride-out Bike4Life 2011 was a huge success. Over 700 people joined together to bike across the Midlands in support of the charity. Bikers raised nearly £12,000 this year.
DBS Law who co-sponsored the event was represented by Head of Employment Paul Griffin. Paul led the ride out on his 600cc Yamaha Thundercat as part of the DBS community outreach project which encourages staff to participate in charitable activities across the region.
Bike fan Paul says: “DBS Law is proud to be associated with the Midlands Air Ambulance and with this great event. We deal with the results of road accidents every day and we know that prompt treatment at the scene of a crash can mean the difference between a life saved and a life destroyed.”
