In the event that your business is served with Employment Tribunal papers (known as the “ET1”) from a current or former employee, DBS Law’s specialist Employment Department are able to offer your business a full representation service, from preparing a detailed response, witness statements, and documentation, to appearing before the Tribunal to present your case in person (or through the use of Counsel), all at competitive rates. We will also provide you with regular updates on the current costs, and projected future costs in defending any claim that is made, so you can make a fully informed decision on whether a defence is cost effective or not.
As part of this service, and before we accept any instruction to defend a claim, we will advise you on the economic case, and the likely prospects of success. We understand that in reality, it may be more cost effective to settle the matter early, rather than incur unnecessary and disproportionate legal costs. If we believe it is more cost effective to settle, then we will tell you so, and allow you the opportunity to avoid running up a large legal bill which far exceeds the value of any potential settlement.
